The Paralympic Flame is lit in Weymouth and Portland

For the past three days I’ve been working in the admin office at Weymouth and Portland, with the Paralympic Flame sat in two miner’s lamps in the corner of the room. With all the jobs to do, it’s easy to forget what we’re here for and that this isn’t just another sailing regatta. Yesterday afternoon at 5.15, suddenly, the whole Olympic experience came alive as the cauldron overlooking the harbour was lit in a short but meaningful event.

I’m blogging this via my mobile over breakfast, so I’ll let the photos tell the rest of the story.
